funny and cute

this is a great movie very cute and funny, i highly recommend it. its about a man who has a 5yr old child come into his life and he is left to take care of it (he claims it as his own to save a friend who was out of town and doesnt know about the child either, and newly engaged how would he explain?), he feels that with the assistance of his GF he can do well, only to find out his GF is leaving him for a gray haired old man. shocked and left as a single faher to this young boy he takes the child under his wing but then social services get more involved than intended when the bachelor ways of this man begin to show more and more in the 5yr old little boy.Read full review...

Adam Sandler's Big Daddy is Big on Laughs- His Best DVD

You'll instantly recognize the faces in Big Daddy from the other Adam Sandler movies... and its just as funny as those (including Happy Gilmore, Mr. Deeds, etc). Big Daddy is the story of Sonny Koufax (Adam Sandler) as he breaks up with his girlfriend and fights to prove that he's fit (though hes not so fit!) to be a great dad. The best part of the movie isn't Sandler himself - its his crew of friends who bring the various misfit characters to life. Big Daddy is a big hoot - lots of funny scenes and many great lines.

Great Big Daddy Quote

Layla: This is Styx.
Sonny: Yeah.
Layla: They've been my favorite band since I was, like, twelve.
Sonny: You're kidding me?
Layla: No, no, I can't help it, I just love them. My friends make fun of me all the time.
Sonny: My friends make fun of me all the time, too. I've seen them, like, twenty-five times. Tommy Shaw, when I was, like, sixteen years old, I was at the concert, he actually reached out and grabbed my hand, pulled me up on stage, and I got to do the robot voice for Mr. Roboto!

Big Daddy

Sonny Koufax is 32 years old. He's a law school graduate. He's got a nice apartment in Manhattan. There's just one problem. He does nothing, except sit on his butt and live off an investment that was the result of a meager lawsuit he won a year ago. But after his fed up girlfriend leaves him, he comes up with the ingenious idea to adopt a five year old boy to showcase his newfound maturity. But things don't go as planned, and Sonny finds himself the unlikely foster father that will change his perspective on just looking out for himself. This is a great movie and it will make you laugh. I would recommend this to anyone who like to laugh.Read full review...

I've loved this movie since the very first time I saw it; it's a great (re) placement for my "Go-To" movie collection; Adam Sandler is a great actor as well!

Not the best but pretty good

Big Daddy is not the best but pretty good

If you're expecting the usual Adam Sandler slapstick, over-the-top comedy you'll be greatly dissapointed. I'm not a huge Sandler fan but I do get a kick out of him on occasion.

Big Daddy just didn't deliver the laughs I thought it would. It's not a bad film, it's just not as funny as I thought it would be.

Final Verdict:

3/5

Rent or Buy?: Not a must buy in my opinion but pretty decent.

good movie

Once again Adam Sandler out does himself in the funny role of "Sonny" who is a childish adult. He learns to take responsibility really fast when a child shows up at his door step without a home. While, it isn't his son, he takes him in as his own with a witty yet caring attitude. He soon proves to his girlfriend that he is responsible and caring.

This comedy shows compassion, heart and how to have the inner child in yourself. It's a great movie to watch with the family or to brighten anyones mood.
