A "CLASSIC"
My favourite iPod out of all the Generations. Back lite buttons are so unique and stand out to the eye. All four buttons above click wheel are all very sensitive to the touch. A "No" too long battery life currently as its a the original battery from almost 20 years ago. New battery on route. Staying with the original spinning hard drive. Nostalgic hearing it fire up and gives a nice weighty feel to the iPod. Have modified another iPod Classic 3rd Gen to SD "flash" with perfect results. Not the thickest iPod out there but still quite chunky which I like. Also find 3rd Gens give the most crisp sound while using it with a MONSTER branded FM Transmitter at a very loud volume. iPod classic 3rd gen
Nice old school iPod easy to use. It will only charge by FIREWIRE ONLY. It will sync with 30 pin USB but not charge. I was not aware of this until I bought a 3rd gen iPod. The classic 4th gen on, will charge via USB/30 pin cable, which is a 5 volt system. The FIREWIRE is 12 volt charging. You can still convert the 3rd to a CF card with the 1.8 ide adapter for more capacity and longer battery life. So, with that said,it's a great "old school" iPod,and you can still upgrade it if the hard drive dies.Read full review...

Best sounding iPod in the modern iPhone age
The 3rd generation iPod to the 5.5th generation are some of the best sounding music players around. The only drawback of the 1st to 3rd generation is you must exclusively charge it over FireWire. Make sure you get the charger, the regular usb connectors are only for syncing, they won’t charge. But nevertheless, newer iPhones and iPods, especially iPhone X with the lightning to headphone adapter sounds like crap compared to the 3rd gen iPod. Just get one. Read full review...

Great retro iPod
Received this 3rd Gen iPod Classic in decent condition. Just normal wear and tear with light scratches. Functionally, it's perfect and the sound quality is as good as other iPods. Recommended for those who enjoy retro equipment. Note: You'll need to obtain a Firewire cord and a/c charge brick to charge it.Read full review...

Amazing product! I'm in love with it!
It's in amazing shape for one! It has the perfect GB amount. I miss the old ipods so much! I think that this one in particular was the best. I took it into radioshack yesterday to get a firewire cable (didn't have any, like I suspected, but father insisted), and the guy was in awe! He went gaga! Apparently he had never seen one before. And after explaining to him the amazing deal I had gotten for it, I'm certain he'll be trolling on eBay very soon!Read full review...

good but bad
The ipod products has always been something that I wanted to say I owned a piece of and I like owning them but this ipod classic has some flaws because of the limited ways to charge it by using certain chargers and not being totally USB compatible.Read full review...
