DJ Skee’s Cool Customized Sprinter Van Sells on eBay

Among the many pleasures of owning this custom 2015 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van is imagining who sat on its personalized white leather seats. After all, the seller is DJ Skee—real name Scott Keeney.

After 18 bids, the Skee van sold for $75,600.

DJ Skee is credited with using his TV and radio platforms to introduce such artists as Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga, Post Malone, and Travis Scott. His productions have involved many mega-superstars, including Michael Jackson and Snoop Dogg.

DJ Skee’s influence doesn’t stop there. He produces music for hit video game series such as Halo, makes top-performing music videos, creates collectible cards, and has had numerous DJ residences in Vegas and beyond.

Skee also partnered with eBay to promote our Sneakers and Collectibles marketplaces. And his website describes Skee as “a thought leader for the metaverse.”

In keeping with Skee’s stellar record of creativity, this diesel-powered Sprinter van is something very special. The conversion took six months.

DJ Skee told the eBay Motors Blog:

The goal of the Sprinter was to be the ultimate executive/VIP transport and mobile office/lounge ever made. It was not designed as a party bus but rather to travel through Los Angeles traffic with the utmost comfort and flexibility to work, take meetings, and relax.

The Answer to LA Traffic

Skee acknowledges that he hates LA traffic. That helps explain the van’s powerful communication and infotainment system—subtly packaged for privacy behind a body kit painted gloss black. DJ Skee admits, “I probably went a bit overboard.” The list of tech includes:

  • Creston controllers to connect personal computers, tablets, Xbox gaming, Apple TV, and music services
  • A Pioneer-based infotainment system
  • 4K HDTV capabilities and two giant televisions

The cool factor is carried throughout the interior. Skee adapted a Rolls-Royce-style light constellation in the headliner and a Maybach grid-pattern sunroof. White leather seats, with his name on the headrests, brightens the interior “so it wouldn’t be all dark like a limousine.”

There’s a lay-flat bed because, well, of course there is. And to fully take advantage of it, with a button push, the side windows fog up for privacy. Another button closes the partition and isolates the driver. Finally, the roof is raised for walking around without ducking.

DJ Skee’s Personal Design

DJ Skee bought the van new in 2015. The conversion was designed by DJ Skee and carried out by AMG (Mercedes’s performance brand) and Page One Motors.

The Skee-Mobile is suitable for first-class band tours, a celebrity author who makes personal appearances, or perhaps an upper-tier sports team. The three-liter OM642 all-aluminum diesel engine makes 221 horsepower and uses AdBlue urea to reduce NOx emissions.

The van saw a fair amount of use—the odometer reads 122,740. Potential buyers should know it has a rebuilt title resulting from a sideswiping in Las Vegas. It was subsequently professionally repaired.

Not Your Typical Limo

Despite the modifications, this is a diesel Mercedes Sprinter van. Hundreds of them are listed for sale on eBay. And, of course, eBay has abundant Sprinter parts and accessories.

DJ Skee said:

Optimizing a Sprinter in this way versus a typical limo or passenger traffic conversion is difficult, especially with the technology we put in. There are touch-button tint windows, the Crestron system, and a layout featuring the largest TV you can fit, as well as the bed and closet. It was not easy to sync everything together.

“We had a great run with this Sprinter, but I no longer film my TV show. So we don’t have a 60-mile commute through LA traffic that could take up to three hours each way. I figured it’s time to let someone else enjoy it.
