There was a time when a farm pickup like this one recently sold on eBay didn’t get any notice. Back in the day, these trucks were meant for one thing only: getting work done.
But now, this 1960 Chevrolet Apache C-10, scarred by years of chores, has the quintessential beat-up look of a classic collectible pickup.
This truck displays only 28,000 miles on its original, preserved odometer. But the pickup’s patina shows that the C-10 did heavy labor. Its blemished sheet metal—coated with linseed oil to protect the surface—hides contemporary modifications that make the pickup a total package.
415 Horses Beneath the Surface
Early hot rodders are known for adding powerful engines to well-worn jalopies. This truck follows the same script. In this case, the builder swapped in a factory-original 6.2L LS3 V-8—borrowed from a 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan with just 14,000 miles on the clock. The C-10 now pumps out 415 horses. The power is delivered via a 6L80E six-speed transmission to the Moser 12-bolt positraction rear with a 3.55 gear.
The seller claims the truck is reliable, runs cool, and “is an absolute blast to drive.”
The truck got a complete mechanical frame-off restoration with many aftermarket parts added for a comfortable ride. The mods also give the truck its mean, slightly angled stance. A Syndicate Customs coilover front suspension matches with Mustang II rack and pinion steering. The height is adjusted by the rear stock suspension, which gets lowered using coils and blocks.

The C/K Fascia
GM introduced the C/K series of trucks in 1960 for both the Chevy and GMC divisions. The changes included a stronger frame with a drop-center design. The truck also took on a lower cab position and a lower center of gravity.
The exterior appearance was also tweaked. GM designers lowered the headlights into the grille and creating two “eyebrow” areas in the hood where the turn signals and grilled air intakes reside. The hood has a raised sharp crease on each side that matches a similar crease along the sides to the back of the box.
Drilled and slotted rotor power discs are on each corner sitting behind 18-inch Ridler wheels. The custom exhaust pipes nestle up against the body, out of the way of road obstacles. Builders replaced the bed floor with treated wood also coated with linseed coated. They added reproduction metal floor strips. Need to haul something? This truck can handle it.
Gray on Gray
The builders applied medium gray paint to the C-10’s interior metal surfaces. The hue matches the custom gray leather bench and gray carpet.
Other interior enhancements include:
- A leather-wrapped billet steering wheel is mounted to an IDIDIT tilt column.
- An Intellitronix LED display houses the digital speedometer, tach, and other gauges—with the factory speedo showing those original miles.
- A non-descript cover hides a Bluetooth stealth stereo in the dash panel.
- A Lokar Bench Bender shifter puts a fine point on the careful choice of instruments.
