Product placement makes the world of difference. Case in point, take a look at this 1967 Chevy Impala SS396. What would normally be just another very nice car is most definitely enhanced by pictures of it set in the Hollywood Hills. Simple ideas like provenance, or certain options, or a color combination, or even a great location for a photo shoot turn a good car into a great car. There were definitely other Impalas that of a similar condition on eBay Motors, but it was obvious that the owner of this car went above and beyond to accentuate the many positives of this Chevrolet Impala.

This particular 1967 Impala features a tilt steering wheel, center console and shifter, factory bucket seats, and dealer installed air conditioning. Although it might not be a “perfect” Impala when you consider its age, it is outstanding classic in its present condition.

Now what made us choose a 1967 Impala above say a 1964 or a 1959? Recall the implications of the lyrics, “cruising down the street in my 6-4” referring primarily to a 1964 Chevy Impala. That was a car favored by the lowrider community. In fact the lowrider community favors many Impalas of various ages. And 1959 Chevy Impala’s were the Cadillac of the Chevy range back in the day. With all of that being said though, something about the 1965-1970 Impalas, especially the Super Sports, with their long low lines, massive engines, and big bodies, appeal to our inner beasts. Plus, it’s a lot of car for the money. Literally it is a big car for the dollars you spend.

But somewhere along the line Chevrolet lost sight of what the Impala meant to automotive enthusiasts. They at one time took a rear wheel drive coupe and created a front wheel drive sedan, which although it displays an Impala nameplate wasn’t the car we know and love. For there to be automotive enthusiasts there has to be product worth being passionate about. Thankfully Chevrolet is realizing this and reviving rear wheel drive sedans and coupes and placing them at the forefront of the automotive world again like in 1959. They are making the Impala with swank luxury features, a muscle car in its own right, and a world winner once more.
