If you’ve visited eBay Motors recently, you know that we’re all excited over the eBay Motors Las Vegas Experience Sweepstakes, whose Grand Prize winner will get to sit behind the wheel of an actual Ferrari F430 GT race car and spend a day flogging it around Las Vegas Motor Speedway with the crew at Dream Racing. If you’ve been following the eBay Motors posts about the Sweepstakes then you’ve no doubt seen these exciting videos, featuring an introduction to the Dream Racing Experience and an overview of everything that makes the F430 GT more than a ‘regular’ Ferrari. Both videos raise the heart rate of any car enthusiast by placing you in the think of the race with exciting and beautiful camera work. Today we’re going to take a peek behind-the-scenes of the production of that video, which in some ways is just as exciting as the final product.
The Dream Racing ‘trailer’ was shot and produced by Uber Digital, a multimedia creative company with offices in London and New York. Among Uber’s clients are companies like 3M, Davidoff, Corning, Richard Mille, Tata, and many more. The Uber crew was able to film the Dream Racing Ferraris carving the Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s corners with well-placed stationary cameras and chase-cars (well, more like “chase-carts” as you’ll see in the video).
The sheer speed and ability of a pack of wild F430 GTs couldn’t be adequately captured from ground level, so Uber Digital’s team took to the skies in a helicopter. From full-track shots to “How did they get that close to the ground?”-level overhead shots, the planning and execution of this filming is a testament to the skill level of the cameramen, photographers, pilots, drivers, and everyone else involved in making these videos.
