McGard Locking Nuts are made from hardened steel no deformation found
I bought 2 sets of Gorilla locks. When torqued to 130 ft lb the cone collapses and then they become very difficult to get off by hand tools. This McGard product is hard steel. Full torque and easy removal of McGard lock resulted in no deformation to threads. I'm very pleased with the quality.
