Great magnifier but.........
Seeing the 1000X in the title, I was hoping that I would be able to magnify things like pollen grains or Nosema spores by a thousand times in order to identify them but have only managed a fraction of that. It's good for examining parts of bees, eg wing veins, and taking digital photos of them.

Easy food preservation.
In a little over a week I now have 15 jars of dried food. All I need now is recipes! And more jars!

Cheap, easy and useful.
I don't have an aquarium but the sensor is outside my window so I know it's 7.22 degrees C outside. When warming honeycomb for extraction I will push the sensor into the comb so I an be sure that it does not get too hot.
