Just what I needed
It's exactly the size I wanted, which was not easy to find. The pages hold lots of photos, but they are rather thin, so I don't know how long they will hold up. It holds a lot more than the pages that came with it, so I've added heavier duty pages. I am happy with it.

American Headway 1
I bought it for an adult Beginning High ESL class. I like it for its high-interest stories and conversation starters. But it does not give very thorough grammar and sentence structure introductions. It assumes that the students already know a lot, or that they will pick up concepts quickly without much intro or practice. For students just coming out the beginning level, it has proven to be quite difficult, and I have had to supplement it with a lot of other materials.

Can You Believe It?
I purchased Books 1 and 2 for my adult ed ESL small group tutoring. I am using Book 1 for my lower Beginning High ESL students, and Book 2 for my students who are actually ready for Intermediate ESL. The focus is on idioms and conversation, and both books are working very well to get students talking. The stories are interesting and fun, and the conversation questions are helpful, although I do extend them with further inquiry, which requires a little thought. But any ESL teacher should be used to this. There is no grammar, but most of the students are in my regular ESL class, and get enough grammar there. I've noticed that when we first start, the students are very hesitant to speak, but with each unit, they are becoming more confident. I'm only sorry to see that these books are out of print and are becoming harder to find.
