So Far, I'm Impressed!
We all know why we're looking for an alternative to Canon branded batteries. On the inside these branded battery packs are just ordinary cells, wired together in a pack that is made to fit only that brand of device, so they can charge you a super inflated price. You're mostly paying for the Canon name printed on the pack. I've always been into looking for a better deal in ripoff situations like this. Sometimes cheaper alternatives turn out to be crap and other times you get lucky, like with the Wasabi deal. I got 2 batteries and a charger with adapters for Europe and auto cig lighter type socket, all for less than 1 Canon brand battery! The batteries last a long time. I haven't done an actual time test, but I haven't had to change batteries on a shoot so far. They fit the camera perfectly. The charger is easier to use than the one that came with my camera. Some reviews say the battery is hard to get out of the charger, once it's snapped in there, but it's not if you are doing it right, as shown on the charger. If you put your thumb on the bottom right ( in relation to the direction of the Wasabi Power logo) corner of the battery and your forefinger on the opposite side of the charger (right handed people) and push the battery towards the opposite side, the bottom right corner of the battery pops loose about 1/8 inch. Then pinch the battery between your thumb and forefinger and pull the right end away and to the right, to release the contacts connection, on the upper left corner. To place the battery into the charger, you stick the connector end in at an angle first, get the male & female terminals seated, then pivot towards the charger and snap the right end straight in. I've yet to see how they last as far as charge/discharge cycles, but so far I'm impressed. I'm going to look for a set to fit my camcorder if they make them! :D
