Got it done. Learned a lot.
My original 175 mm axle was just barely long enough. When I installed an axle mounted trailer hitch, I obviously needed a longer axle. I replaced the freewheel at the same time. RJtheBikeGuy youtube videos were the best instructions. I got hours of quality education for the price of an axle.

Made my bikes more comfortable.
It raised my handlebars 145 mm and that's very helpful. That's the max it can be raised. And the minimum it can be raised is 105 mm. The product packaging says it can raise your bars up to 8.25 inches but that's not true. 8.25 is the riser length only. I knew that is advance because this is the second one I've bought, so I'm not disappointed. I saw a bad review of this riser that said it's a poor design and did not come with a "cap". That reviewer bought the wrong item. He should have ordered an adapter. There is no design problem.
