This flash is great for doing high speed sync and TTL flash photo. I use it with my Nikon D800 and D4 and get great results. For quick results I use it mostly as a bounce flash off White walls. If the wall is colored, I use a softbox modifier or the built-in reflector card. The TTL is great in most cases with few exposures requiring flash compensation. This flash works on all digital and film camera and it's only limited by the camera's functionality. It's a great flash at a good price if can be had for $200 or less. I got mine for $150 plus. I love this flash so I have three.

Best value for used Nikon flash today. You could probably get 2 of these used for a price of one used SB910. They are reliable, and durable. I bought 3 used on EBay and use the heck out them. All still working fine. More compact than SB900 series and just as bright, cheaper and just as useful as SB700 series and better and more feature laden than SB600.

Works great with Nikon d700. Really improved my shots. I like how you can angle it. Just what I was needing.

This flash is great. All the reccommendations and referrals are accurate on this flash. It enables HSS and TTL capabilities which should be a requirement for anyone doing event photography. The recycle time is outstanding with batteries and this flash would be a dream with a battery pack. Also tested with wireless mode on Automatic mode and it was accurate on exposure. Highly reccommend this flash as it is the best built flash I have put my hands on. If it would happen to be dropped it would survive or be the flash most likely to survive. Nikon quality is built into this product.

This, in my opinion is Nikon's best flash.. Smaller than the SB-900/910 series but puts out more power. Works with ALL Nikon TTL systems, TTL of film days, dTTL of the early digital era and the current iTTL. None of the currently produced Nikon flashes can do that. Another feature left off of the current flashes is the SU-4 mode. This not only provides wireless TTL function with film TTL it also enables a way of tripping the flash in manual mode with other, non-TTL flashes or studio strobes. Very handy if you have a TTL system or are using it in a studio or other multi-flash setup. I will probably always have SB-800's as the basis of my Nikon lighting setups.

I love this flash, it gives you a good quality of light with easy to use and access controls. I use it along with my sb900, a great pair on shoots. Easily transportable and to setup. Thanks for such a clean and great deal.

When I first tried out the product, the flashes were inconsistent and there was always a constant whine. As this is my first speedlight I was unsure if I was using it wrong or it was supposed to be that way. After getting frustrated and looking up SB-800 whine, I l finally found a forum that mentioned changing the batteries. Once I replaced the included batteries with some new ones, it worked perfectly. The device itself has a weird navigation but I have it setup the way I plan to use it (remote M and TTL) and setup is quick. I really wish they hadn't included the batteries as it gave me more stress than benefit and just lowered the price.

I have 11 of these SB800 Speedlights I have been using them for years. You can slave the other speedlights to your camera or to one of the SB800 speedlight itself. I always use the speed light as the Master and slave 1-2 speedlights to that one. I use them to at every shoot. I love the way they bounce light.

Beat Nikon flash I’ve ever had and I’ve had most of them. This one is very well made in Japan. It’s big, but feels fine atop a Z6 to a D850, F5 or F6. I put it on a Leica CL as a joke, and it’s a little big for smaller cameras like my Leicas:) It performs even better when fired remotely. If you buy one of these, make sure you get one that has the orange and green filters. You’ll want those. But they’re still available new at big camera stores. The LCD and operating system are complex in that there are lots of settings and options, but in operation, it’s extremely easy and quick and intuitive to use. Go back to an older flash after using this and you’ll know what I’m talking about. There is no reason at all to get the SB-5000 instead of this one as long as good copies used are still available. The 5000s aren’t even available anywhere retail, and are not made in Japan like the SB-910. Save a few hundred bucks. Radio is the only thing missing from the SB-910, but I’ve never had the optical trigger come up short on me. If you want the best Nikon flash, this is it. Get the SB-910. Read full review
