A Look at the Jordan 13 Navy Blue Sneaker
Tinker Hatfield's panther-inspired Jordan 13s feature a remastered colorway on the Navy Blue 13s.
Released on April 29, 2022, the Jordan 13 Navy Blue sneaker is a follow-up to the Jordan 13 Brave Blues that came out in 2017.
They add to a long line of Jordan 13 colorways first designed by sneaker design legend Tinker Hatfield.
Inspiration for the Jordan 13s
The Jordan 13s first came out in 1997. At the time, Tinker Hatfield struggled to create a new sneaker design for the Jordan brand. While hitting dead ends, he took a different approach and looked to the basketball court for a new perspective. As Hatfield watched Michael Jordan on the court, he noticed how MJ attacked the game. Tinker noted that Michael Jordan played instinctively and predatorily like a panther. Ironically, Michael Jordan's nickname was "Black Cat." With this new illumination, Tinker Hatfield went to the drawing board, and the Jordan 13s were born.
The Jordan 13s showcase the inspiration of the panther in some unique details. For one, each pair of 13s feature a holographic jewel on the outside heel. The hologram closely resembles a cat's eye. On top of that, the sneaker's outsole and underfoot resemble a panther's paw.
Key Features of the Jordan 13 Navy Blue Sneaker
Like the original Jordan 13s, the Navy Blue sneakers include a dimpled midfoot overlay, carbon fiber plate, and Zoom Air cushioning in the heel and forefoot. Depending on the colorway, Jordan 13s can feature a combination of materials in its construction. Most often, the 13s include leather, suede, and mesh. The mesh featured on the 13s is a reflective material.

The Jordan 13 Navy Blue Colorway
The Jordan 13 Navy Blue includes a color variation of navy, black, white, and University Blue. Unlike its predecessor, the Brave Blues, the Navy Jordan 13s are a high-top model. Looking at the sneaker, you will see the body of the Jordan 13 Navy Blue sneaker combines leather and dimpled mesh. The dimpled mesh overlay is in navy. The navy stands out on the contrasting black leather toe, suede mudguard, and tongue. Looking at the sneaker's lacing system, you will notice black laces that work their way up the sneaker in a crisscross fashion. At the top of the sneaker's tongue, you will notice the Jumpman logo in light blue. From the tongue of the sneaker, you can see a cushioned collar around the sneaker's ankle in navy. The sneaker includes a navy liner and a white Jumpman on the inner sole's heel.
Looking at the base of the sneaker, the Navy Jordan 13s have a midsole that features white pods that work into the black outsole. In addition, the sneaker features the signature holographic decal on the side of the sneaker and a paw patterned underfoot.

The Jordan 13 French Blue Sneakers
The French Blue 13s came out in August 2022. They feature a white mesh overlay, a blue suede mudguard and heel, and a gray toe. In addition, the sneaker features the Jumpman in red on the sneaker's tongue.
