Jordan brand did not forget the strange time when Michael announced his first retirement. His announcement sent shockwaves across the sporting world before he said he was joining baseball instead. His tenure on the diamond was short because of the MLB strike, but that moment remains historical. The Jordan brand decided to release the Barons Pack to commemorate Jordan's time working with the Birmingham Barons.

The brand released two shoes, the Air Jordan 9 Barons and the Air Jordan 1 Barons. They selected the two because of their historical significance. During Michael's time off from the game, he wore the Air Jordan 9. At the same time, Nike was toying with the idea of retroing the sneakers, and the Air Jordan 1 Retro was born. Six months later, the brand released the Air Jordan 13 Baron.

The midsole looks like a panther's paw, and the holographic jewel on the heel is the animal's eye. Other notable design elements of the sneaker include a carbon fiber plate, dimpled midfoot overlays, and Zoom Air cushioning. All the retros had to rework the exquisite attention to detail and sophistication of the original Air Jordan 13.

Released as part of the Barons Pack, the Air Jordan 13 Barons available on eBay feature a clean outfit in white with touches of black and gray. The sneaker has an iridescent strip above the midsole and lateral panels of a full holographic makeover. The brand covered the shoe in velvet black and capped the toe in white tumbled leather. You will find a green jade sphere on the ankle collar. While checking for a pair on eBay, you will realize that some shoe features remain the same. They include the turquoise details on the tongue, the white outsole, and the black midsole.

Baron Jordan 13 is not related to the Birmingham Barons except through a similar color scheme. This sneaker featured various classic elements from the Air Jordan 'Gray Toe' released in 2005. Sneakerheads commend the decision by the Jordan brand to use the distinct iridescent panel with the hits of teal.

The Air Jordan 9 Barons had a colorway that matched the AA White Sox affiliate. The brand included a black lining to resemble the classic baseball pinstripe motif and accents of gray. They made the shoe more sentimental by adding number 45 PE stitching on the back heel. The Air Jordan 1 Barons featured a white base. The laces got a touch of pinstripes to match the inner lining that paid homage to the uniform of the Birmingham Barons.
