International selling policy

Listing items on our international sites is a great way to attract more buyers and increase your sales. However, you should be aware of the buyer protection policies we have on the sites you sell on because your buyers are protected by them.

When you sell on eBay’s international sites, you’re bound by our buyer protection policies (if there are any) on the eBay site where your items were sold.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I be sure that my items are only listed on eBay.com?

When you list your items on eBay.com, make sure you don’t choose the international shipping option so you won’t be subject to buyer protection policies on any other site other than eBay.com. Remember though that your listings on eBay.com are still subject to the eBay Money Back Guarantee.

International selling policy

This policy applies to you in the following circumstances:

  • When you list an item for sale on an eBay site with a buyer protection policy other than eBay.com;
  • When you list an item for sale with an international shipping option (such as worldwide shipping), which may result in your item being sold to a buyer on an eBay site other than eBay.com with a buyer protection policy.

You are subject to the buyer protection policies (if any) of the eBay sites where your items are sold. According to these policies, if a transaction dispute arises between you and a buyer and eBay resolves such dispute in favor of the buyer, you authorize eBay or an eBay affiliate to reverse the funds in your PayPal account to reimburse the buyer, and if such funds are unavailable or insufficient, you agree to reimburse eBay for any amount eBay refunds to the buyer. To reimburse eBay, you agree to allow eBay or an eBay affiliate to charge your reimbursement or automatic payment method on file for amounts refunded to the buyer or to remove funds from your PayPal account for such amounts (even in a currency other than the currency of the transaction, if you have insufficient funds available in the transaction currency). eBay may place the amount refunded to the buyer on your invoice subject to your automatic payment method. You will remain obligated to pay eBay for all unpaid amounts and eBay reserves the right to seek reimbursement through other means.

You may opt-out of allowing eBay to remove funds from your PayPal account for future listings by emailing PayPalReimbursementOpt-Out@ebay.com from your registered eBay email address and stating your user ID and intention to opt out of PayPal reimbursement. However, as a consequence of such opt-out, eBay may prohibit you from listing items on eBay sites with a buyer protection policy and/or from offering international shipping on your listings. For further detail regarding the terms of the eBay buyer protection policies and a list of eBay sites with such policies, please read our article on the eBay Money Back Guarantee.

If you do not want to be subject to buyer protection policies on eBay sites other than eBay.com, you should not list your items on such other sites and avoid listing your items with an international shipping option (or exclude specific international shipping locations from your listing). As a reminder, if you do not list your items on eBay sites other than eBay.com and avoid listing your items with an international shipping option, your listings on eBay.com are still subject to the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
