About as good as it gets for live use
This pair comes about as close to perfection for live use. In very high gain scenarios it may be necessary to close the piano lid to eliminate feedback ring. Pianos with very noisy actions will need some extra care regarding placement to reduce thumps. It's a pity DPA couldn't provide one or two extra mounts (e.g. for double bass) to increase the versatility of this (admittedly pricey) pair of microphones.

Made the way I would make them
These snakes are brilliant value, yet the internal soldering is exactly as I would like (had I the time...)
The red and blue divisions for channels 1-4 and 5-8 are helpful, as are the printed channel numbers.
If you need an honest, hard-working snake and you do not feel like splashing out on name brand tax, these will do the job.
