Fascinating Presentation of Cosmological Findings
Fascinating presentation of the mystery of the cosmos. To see it flat as a picture in a book is one thing; to see it as a globe and get a feel for it as a three dimensional reality is a step up for this layman. But then, it raises the question whether a globe is a proper representation rather than, say, a saddle shape. Since I am limited in my knowledge and ability to comprehend it all, I can only sit and stare at it and appreciate a little the advances that astronomers and cosmologists are making to their (I hesitate to say "our" -- i.e. to include me) understanding of the universe.

Gripping But Not As Good As Tinker Tailor
We got into watching the early John Le Carre' movies. I had read all his early books at the time they came out and had DVD's of Tinker, Tailor and Smiley's People, The Deadly Affair, and the others. Looking Glass is not in the same class as a movie as either version of Tinker Tailor (the original PBS series with Alec Guinness, nor the re-make with Gary Oldman), or Alec Guinness in Smiley's People) nor actually as good as Denholm Elliott in Murder of Quality or James Mason in The Deadly Affair. But it is, like the book, a gripping tale. Maybe Alec Guinness ruined any subsequent (or predecessor) images of Smiley, although Oldman sure comes so close as to be indistinguishable)
