Perfect 24 port fully managed switch for my place with gig to the house! Took a little playing to get the mgmt software reset, but no problem after that.

Cachecade chip
The hardware version is way less expensive than the software license code. This allows me to have a multi-tiered storage subsystem in my pc!

Good wireless detectors
These are photo ion detectors (no radio active elements in them) and also have a heat sensor. The batteries last up to 5 years. I have simply removed the old detectors and installed these in their place simply tucking the wiring under them into the ceiling box.
This is a commercial grade detector. It can be remotely reset to ensure there are fewer false alarms. If they go off the second time, then the alarm system should notify based on your settings.
