Greatest Console of All Time
5 of 5 found this helpful Sure it lost the battle to PlayStation but dammit this machine had heart. Those moments where you’d get a developer who really knew how to work the hardware were gaming experiences that the PS just couldn’t quite replicate. Panzer Dragoon Zwei, Sonic R, Quake, Virtua Fighter, Sega Rally, Virtua Cop, Nights... the list goes on

Only buy this if your TV doesn't have scart
I'm not saying it's a bad product - it's basic but it works. However, be aware that this is not an upscaler. All it does is convert scart to an HDMI output. It does not improve quality in anyway and in fact the video quality direct from scart is superior and this introduces harsh contrasts and banding.
If you only have HD inputs and is the case with many modern TVs then it'll do the job, but don't expect too much. In that respect it lives up to the price.

Best RPG on the Megadrive
I rented this back in the 90s and loved it despite never playing an rpg before. A few things that stood out was the characters, strategic battle system and the feature of a battery save which was a pretty cool thing at the time.
Years past and I get SF1 on the iPhone. Immediatly I was back and it worked perfectly for mobile. Too bad SF2 was never ported.
Last year I got back into collecting megadive again and had to get the best RPG on the system if not one of the best ever made IMO. SF2 has a good story about an evil being accidentally let loose and the story of a group of kids who grow into heros as they set about righting what has gone wrong. It's classic RPG stuff with warriors, dragons, wizards, elves, centaurs and other weird character in a japanese art style.
The main stand out point for me is the strategic turn based battle system that sees two armies go head to head on a battle field with each character able to move a certain amount of space and position themself to gain a tactical advantage before attacking, using magic or items. Battles can really switch quickly if you make bad decisions.
The characters are all very memorable and I can still remember many of them even after 20 years. It's great seeing them level up and their spells and attacks become more powerful. It's also good to upgrade weapons and supplies.
Great game
