Works as expected, it is fun to transform the old reel to reel lo-fi into a bit higher- fi one.

Very nice 17 years old item. It was unopened for all those years, at first - no surprise- the cassette player didn’t work at all, only the radio was playing. I’ve unscrewed it, inside everything seemed to be OK the belts including, no leaked electrolyte smell. So I’ve warmed the mechanism up, played radio for a few hours, and then after rapid alternately pressing “play” and “stop” it started to play, rewind / ffd. normally- probably the grease was too much solidified. It works another week fine, the sound has no issues except of natural discrete noise, typical for all tape sounds. The bass boost works pretty good, I’ve listened to various recordings with different bass levels, they were never too weak after moving the b.b.s. correction switch. Motor works silently. I love the diode, which has interesting shade of red- intensive like by poppy petals. The little glass allows to see a part of wounded tape, what gives extra charm to the well designed player. For me it’s a cool hipster gadget :)
