Not a bad product for what it cost.
1 of 1 found this helpful I had a similar one of these years ago and never really could get much use out of it. Perhaps I just didn't know how to properly use it. I have a Hakko 472D w/ gun grip that I use for large jobs, and for smaller less sensitive jobs I have often found myself using desoldering wick. However, I thought I might take a chance and give a vacuum tool another try. I'm not going to go off the deep end and say it's the single most greatest tool ever, but for the money it is a good tool and does work as it should. The brand name of this tool is "Steren". I was actually quite surprised considering my past experience with such gadgets. As far as quality goes, I don't know how long it will hold up, but it does seem to be made fairly well. The Teflon tip if properly taken care of should last for a while with moderate use. I am uncertain about replacement tips at this time, however considering the cost it might be just as well to purchase another whole tool later. Using a little PTFE based lube in the cylinder should help promote its overall life after cleaning it out from time to time. The threads themselves on the black piece that hold the tip in the metal tube seem a bit thin and weak and I could see them wearing out quickly if one does not take the time and care to make sure they line up properly when reassembling. Lastly, the tip is rather wide ~ 200 mils in diameter and you may find it difficult to get in areas that are narrow like DIP IC pins. Again, for the money, one of these is probably not a bad investment for your workbench. I paid $6.60 including shipping. Be aware that there are other places where you can buy this desoldering tool for even less with free ship. Also, some dealers on eBay sell kits for less than $10 that include a similar tool as well as other items. Shop around for the best deal.

Not exactly as pictured.
I only gave this item 3 stars because what I received was not exactly as pictured. They work OK, but I believe there to be a bit of a misrepresentation with this item. The filters I received are not circular in shape and are cut in a very strange way so that there is a bit of a protrusion on the ends. This leaves a slight bulge on each side when placed on the filter canister element. I did a little bit of handy work with a pair of scissors to fix the problem, and I doubt there would be any real restriction on air flow. I just wanted it to be right. You do get four as pictured and they are quite cheap. So there is that to consider. The originals appear to be getting hard to find in stores also, at least in my area. If you do buy these they will probably work OK for you, just be aware that you might not get exactly what is depicted in the pictures.

For those who wish for a little more information.
2 of 2 found this helpful I purchased these washers for an Ibanez bass model SR700LE. A couple of the originals had split and it was time to replace them. After looking around on the internet and even calling Ibanez it did not appear that anyone sold a replacement part. The part number for this item is TK-7717-025 and upon receiving this part, they seem to be a suitable replacement. I am writing this review to try and help provide some more information about the dimensions, since depending on where you look or who you talk to, the information may vary quite a bit. The TK-7717-025 washers as measured with digital micrometers have the following approximate but very close (within a few hundredths of a mm) measurements: 7.50mm outside diam., 5.00mm inside diam., 1.25mm thickness. This information is important for certain reasons. They seem to fit the Gotoh Bass machine tuners found on many Ibanez basses pretty well and I am happy with their performance so far. They seem to be made out of a hard durable plastic, perhaps Delrin, and they should last a while hopefully. The original washers were a bit thicker, coming in at around 1.31mm thick, but this does not seem to cause a problem. At least now I have a source for this part. Hope this review helps others.
