Logitech Harmony 700 Rechargeable Advanced Universal Remote Control
    Nov 12, 2016
    Best Remote Logitech ever made
I have used other Logitech Remotes before, but the 700 is by far my favorite. Buttons last a lot longer than some of my previous Logitech Remotes (e.g. Harmony 880). The physical design of the Remote is also easier to use with a single hand. I am currently using 4 of these for different rooms in the house (with one extra remote in the bedroom that I can use while the other one is charging). Because Logitech doesn't make this Remote any longer, I have also bought 4 spares, to last for years to come. I find the best way to program these remotes is to tell the application to leave all devices powered-up all the time, then add a screen to each activity with Power Toggles for each device. I always hated that when you leave an activity the device would shut off. This way I can turn on or off any device from any activity. Another useful feature to add to each activity, is a "Fix Input" button to the main screen of each activity. This allows you to send the code to the TV to select the correct input on the TV for the current activity (sometimes the TV doesn't get the right input if the remote wasn't pointing at the TV when switching activities, this allows just pressing a single button to fix the TV input). If you are using more than one remote (for different rooms) and don't have more than 8 devices combined for the two rooms, you can add activities for both rooms (just give them a different name from the rename Activity feature). You can then hi-jack a Remote from the other room while charging your original Remote. Because none of my Devices needs to use the 4 colored buttons, I program a Sequence for those buttons to change to 4 of my favorite channels (each button uses a different sequence that consists of sending the number button codes for the desired channel). If you take the time to understand how to program these remotes, I'm sure you will be more than happy with Logitech Harmony 700!!
