Bosch 270L Heat Pump - Great product, user interface not intuitive
The LCD on-tank user interface will, for most people, have to be used in conjunction with careful reading of the user manual (which is thankfully supplied in hardcopy form) for at least the first few times. I set the heating times to best utilise peak solar panel output - in sunny winter days the solar panels can easily match the draw of the unit when operating only in heat pump mode. Heat pump mode only draws 0.6kW or 2.6A. For two people and an occasional third, it works well. For three or four people, you may have to invoke other "less economical" menu options which make greater use of both the electric element and heat pump to reheat the water more quickly. (Once a week, regardless of settings, the unit will use both heat pump and element to heat the water throughout the tank to 60 deg C and hold this temperature for at least thirty minutes to kill legionella bacteria - it's advisable on this day to try and avoid drawing off hot water until this cycle is finished. Otherwise, the cold water admitted to the tank will cause the tank temperature to drop and the heating cycle to repeat.)
Only other point is that the operating noise (heat pump mode) level is 43dBA. This is roughly equivalent to the noise level of a library, and will be amongst the lowest level of urban noises experienced. However, in rural areas, the environmental noise may well be only 15-20dBA, such as generated from rustling leaves and bird calls. So depending on where you live, placement away from bedrooms and living areas may be best.
Overall, it's a relatively simple but effective programmable system that should give reliable performance - it has about the same level of complexity as a window air conditioner - for many years.

Pertronix coil is a great match for the Pertronix Ignitor
This is a great replacement for a stock coil in a 4 or 6 cylinder engine that uses either stock points or the Pertronix I Ignitor points replacement. I have the Pertronix I system that limits me to a 3 ohm coil. I did try a 1.5 ohm coil but this was not a success although 8 cylinder engines or those with a Pertronix II or III points replacement or other ignition system could probably go for the 1.5 ohm coil for even more firepower.

Good value thread repair kit
This was a really good value kit. Some, ah, person had stripped the fuel inlet fitting in the alloy lid of an aftermarket carburetor and attempted to solve the problem with epoxy resin. This kit saved the day - well, the carburetor anyway - simply drilled out the hole in a drill press, tapped, and screwed in the correct length of thread. All good again, and stronger than the original thread.
