Great For Fans, And Decent For Everyone Else
For Sailor Moon fans in need of a fix, this game is a surprisingly competent venture into an original story which features all of the inner and outer Senshi. It's a standard JRPG done in rounds, but your special points refill after every battle -- meaning you're gonna be able to spam some of your favorite attacks from the original anime and manga (with voice clips! that aren't terrible quality!), and team-up attacks using the Link system (please press Start when you've got a team together, the game doesn't do a good job of explaining it to you).
It's a little grindy at times, and can be hard to navigate, but thanks to a new fan translation patch -- and accompanying Grind-Be-Gone supplementary patch -- the game is the best it's ever been for English-speaking audiences.
It's very much not a high-budget title, thanks to some tinny, cheap-sounding music and bland backgrounds, but it's definitely one of the best games for the license since the arcade beat-em-ups and quiz games.
