Magnificent to look at...if ou can ignore the silly storytelling.
2 of 2 found this helpful Although these films were produced in Italy in the mid-eighties and might seem a little silly and juvenile, they are still quite fun and the color and costuming make up for the occasional sub-par special effects. Director/Writer Louis Coates (Luiggi Cozzi) also created a famous piece, "Starcrash" with Caroline Munro. He doesn't have exorbitant budgets but I believe the man really tries to make fun pictures with a definite Italian style and energy. I enjoyed both Hercules films and I recommend them.

It's wonderful to learn about the history of Flash Gordon!
The book - Volume 2 - is made up of reprints of the original Flash Gordon comics from 1937 to 1941. There is a great introduction and the color images have scanned and cleaned up.
