Good, for the price.
1 of 1 found this helpful As an introduction to wet shaving, this is a good option. Even for those more experienced, or those looking for another razor, the price point means that the outlay is low.
The price is low enough that if you decide to switch back to cartridges or disposables you haven't lost much. More aggressive than the Lord L5, which can be good or bad depending on your opinion. A little care does need to be taken when using this but no more than the Mach 3 you're probably using now. With a Lord L5 you would struggle to cut yourself if you tried, but that is not the case here. Of course this has the trade off that with this razor, it is easier to get a close shave quicker.
The fit and finish is as you would expect for a razor of this price. It's not particularly beautiful in anyway, it's much more utilitarian. The handle is reasonably long, which again could be good or bad depending on your opinion. I have rather large hands and don't find it to be a hassle in any way. But the handle, being aluminium, is very light. A heavier handle makes the job of shaving much, much easier and makes you feel in more control of the razor. At this price however it is what you expect. If you own another razor with a decent handle, this would be worth buying for the head alone.
The head is simple and blade alignment appears good. Reasonably "aggressive" in that there is a fairly large gap for the blade, but no need for the inexperienced to be scared off. Again, it's not a beautifully finished head but it does it's job very well.
Overall, a decent product at a decent price. A good introduction to wet shaving or in some cases a worthy addition to your collection. Much better than the mass market cartridge razors in a lot of ways; simpler, cheaper, choice of blades etc.

A true classic
What could I say that hasn't been said before? There is a reason that the 12C has been in production for more than 30 years. The combination of the functions available, the placement of the keys, the RPN, the horizontal layout and those beautiful clicky buttons combines to make this a true pleasure to use.
Although it is perhaps not as intuitive as menu-based financial calculators, it rewards the user who spends the time to learn how to use even a fraction of what is possible. Once you understand the layout and logic of the calculator it will become much faster to solve finance problems than with other calculators. The keystroke programming is easy to learn and can automate repetitive tasks.
I highly recommend this calculator, and to anyone considering using it I recommend investing in the time to learn how to use RPN, rather than the also included algebraic input. Once you understand how RPN works, you will wonder how you ever managed without it.

HP Prime Graphing Calculator
I haven't owned a TI or the Casio Classpad with which to compare, but have used emulator versions of those calculators.
I have used this mainly for 4 things; as a general calculator; for which I love the RPN input, 12 stack levels will fit on the screen at one time and it is easy to roll them down/up or pull any given value down the level 1. The nice "clicky" buttons are brilliant, if you've used other HP calculators such as the HP12c et al you will find a very similar feel here. Beautifully clear screen.
Also I use it for statistics, and inferential statistics- mostly hypothesis testings and confidence intervals, which is intuitive and straightforward, and gives all the information I could possibly want. Can take the values across from the Statistics apps which is really nice.
I have used the finance TVM app a little too, and find that easy as well, and appreciate that you can adjust payment periods per year and interest periods per year, also the graphing of amortisation is nice. I have used a Classpad emulator and notice that there is much, much more included in their finance apps rather than just a TVM calculator. There are user-made solutions for the HP and it easy enough to download and get them working, if you can find them.
The help function on the calculator is fantastic, including the entire manual, searchable and it points in the the right direction for the app you are in.
The programming language is straight-forward enough if that is important to you, and you can either program on the calculator or through their software, or do it in a text editor and copy it across. It's not really an area I have played with much.
The battery life appears to be fantastic. I don't use it constantly, but every couple of days it gets a run, and the battery just seems to never go flat. I can't comment on how it would be using for hours every day for graphing etc.
Tt appears to be a step above the two competitors in terms of quality, look and feel. The brushed stainless is beautiful, and the buttons really are fantastic. It has a very substantial, professional feel to it.
Obviously if you are looking for a graphing calculator with RPN this is the only choice, but if money isn't a problem you may want this just a general RPN calculator and find something else useful and interesting within the apps.
