Works but not like you expect it to

When I got it in the mail and plugged it up it made a grinding noise which was odd but the game played but again made the grinding noise when it would load the game and now it doesn't want to load a majority of my games which is frustrating I'm now going to have to shell out another $100 dollars to get another one
