Looks like new. Does not function like new

While the product fits my iPad Air2 and looks brand new it does not function like new. The cover does not “wake” or put to “sleep” the iPad when the cover is opened or closed as it is supposed to. The cover does not stay closed and flops open if the iPad is not laying flat. I received a lemon of a Otterbox.
