Cheap and great, but not the most professional
This pop filter foam cover is a great product for its price. It was cheap and so I bought two of these.
It was actually thicker and bigger than I thought it would be. It did help reduce plosives although
not entirely.
Pros:
- It's very cheap, very affordable
- It could slightly mitigate any damage done to the microphone if the grill falls with its thick foam cover, so it provides minor protection to the microphone
- It does reduce plosives and breathing/airy speech
- It prevents spit and fluids from reaching the grill of the microphone, also maybe possible dust or dirt
- Could be my imagination, but it might slightly reduce background noise
Cons:
- The thick foam could take a bit more space
- It looks kinda goofy and even phallic
- It does not do a great job at reducing plosives compared to actual pop filters which aren't
a foam cover like this
So personally go for it, however if you're going to talk really close to the microphone or if
your microphone is susceptible to plosives go and buy an actual pop filter instead, because it won't completely remove plosives and air, only reduce it.
