Pre-installed Wires are Helpful
I chose this outlet because it has mounting flanges instead of being pane-mount, which would require drilling a large hole. The included wires were also helpful, although I had to also buy a fuse to complete the installation. I mounted the outlet using foam tape and a zip tie on each side, instead of screws.
The spring cover seals well. The springs are strong and the cover needs to be held open while inserting the plug - a two-handed operation. I doubt it is weatherproof because of the exposed steel springs, but dust proof, for sure.

A Useful Timer
It looks like it's well made and is relatively easy to program by following the written instruction. The screen is large enough and the buttons are big enough to use easily. It's easy to switch between standard and daylight time without completely resetting the clock.
On the down side, when setting the time the numbers only advance and don't go backward, so if you overshoot the number you want you have to go around again. Also, when plugged into a normal U.S. outlet, the timer is too close to the other outlet to leave room for more than a light-duty plug. A heavy-duty 3-prong plug won't fit in the second outlet. The same thing applies to power strips. I lose 3 power strip outlets when I plug in the timer.
There is a bright blue pilot light that shows when the timer has switched the circuit on. This is very handy, but it is bright enough to disturb your sleep at night.

Fairly Flexible
This zip cord has a fairly high copper strand count and thick, but relatively soft insulation making it pretty flexible for its size. The copper is clean and solders well, but doesn't seem as thick as real AWG 10 gauge. The wire is labelled "10 gauge" but not "AWG".
