Dianna Krall shines, piano sings!

I have a modified SR Marantz 8002. I have bypassed all minor microchip op amps in analog signal path and entered the analog audio signal on the main driver board. I have replaced the sole microchip opamp on entry to driver board with AD79ARZ (BRZ could be even better). My preamplier is a modified B&K Reference 50 S2. I have modified the output opamp to AD797 BRZ. I added this Nobsound tube preamp between the B&K and the Marantz. The improvement is just shy of palpable, more than mere noticeable. Diana Krall’s “Stepping Out” piano key strokes now sound sharp and glass like without being strident. I’m now actually listening (and enjoying) my Listz and Chopin cd’s, with many more to dust off. I’ve sent off for Russian tubes to replace and try. This modification has necessitated a whole new upgrade path for the system based on tubes, certainly in preamp stage. My system was really great before but tubes are a whole new level for me, not just different. Main speaker drivers are from B&W S1 with JBL

I installed Windows 10 it's a world apart from 8.1. That said initial install of Win 10 is buggy. I'm yet to be able to add contacts?? The installed radio is great but audio quality despite all the enhancement adjustments available for audio quality just seems poor compared to cheaper Chinese phones I've tried. Win10 has a professional feel compared to Android's offering. Internet Explorer finally shows competence. I don't regret the purchase but i would expect any iphone to deliver a more finished product. If you are after the 6"screen size, I'd say losing .5 inches may not be a real loss for a more polished product. Speaking of screen, adequately bright, colour gamut adjustable under Win10. Doesn't have the punch of OLED screens though (lumia 945). Biggest issue app store! No Opera browser or Chrome etc. Performance is slick design of software modern. Phone itself is...bland but not quite vanilla. Just understated in black. A nice case should help. And Ull need it as it gets slippery. The phone feels more like a portable tablet computer than a grab and go phone.
