Finally An Official Release!!
1 of 1 found this helpful This is a fine Christmas film, made for television in 1991. Until now, the only dvds available were copied from broadcast. SHOUT! Factory has done a lovely job issuing this on a dual-layer Silver DVD. Not one of those cheap DVD-R Manufactured on Demand crap.
A must have!!

Must-Have Kubrick History
If you are a die-hard Stanley Kubrick collector, this huge-scale masterpiece will grace your bookshelves along side 'The Kubrick Archives'. This particular re-issued edition is fairly faithful to the overly elaborate original pressing, just at a much more affordable price. Some of the magnificent pictures would onviously look better in the larger original volume, but only select few could afford to buy one of those from 2011. Still a rock-solid piece and the best glimpse of what Kubrick's Napoleon may have looked like. In my personal opinion, I believe he poured all that enthusiasm and art into 'Barry Lyndon', and that is why it is one of his best films ever....and one of the films by anybody ever.
