I smile whenever I think about it.
I'm not some expert who's seen every movie ever made, but this one is unique in my experience. It should have a larger cult following. That doesn't mean it's great, only that it's worth seeing. The genre is "Soda-Pop Porn". Phoebe Cates is cute, sexy, and endearing if not totally convincing at times. The hair-do's are so 80's, as are the dress styles. The plot and characters are interesting enough to make you want to watch through to the end. And you'll chuckle repeatedly, not so much at the story or any gag lines but at the ludicrousness of it, and know that it took a very special moment in time which will never come around again for this movie to have ever been made.
