As-described, well-packed, fast, would buy from again. ER4XR has much better bass than other Etymotic buds I have used, but is still poor. It's good, but at the price it seems like they "should" do better. Reason for buying despite high cost and poor bass: excellent isolation from outside sounds, I don't know of anything else close. Reason you might not want to buy: Etymotic used to offer repairs, but no longer either repair or replacement parts, so if it breaks you are out a lot of money.
