If u need the 80s, buy one.
This thing is awesome. I got mine used, and, for under $300, I got the 80s, lol. I play new wave, EDM…covers, etc. Any pad from that time period, any ploink, and buzz, bass, etc, this will do it.
I owned a actual JX8 back in the day, and I can’t tell the difference.

Heavy as heck
So, I bought 3 of these to use to see if I could get rid of my rack. But. While these are decent stands, they are super heavy, and that’s without the tom mount! With it, fuggedaboutit…3 of these in a hardware bag almost killed my back completely. But they’re nice. Only other complaint is, I found you have to really torque the hell out of the nuts to get these to stay in place. They def come loose fast, otherwise.

So, I needed some very light weight pads to use for traveling rehearsals and hone practice. I’ve had these before, and, once I’d upgraded my entire kit to PD105s and 125s, I was sorry if sold them all. So I bought 4, and I’m happy. They look cool, they play as well as any other tom sold by Roland, and they’re nice and light. Good to go.
