Excellent books.
7 of 7 found this helpful I had read both books many years ago but they seem so much more when I read them again after the passage of so many years. They are cautionary stories for our time particularly 1984. I have seen a lot of history pass in my lifetime and mankind seems to be fated to repeat the same mistakes. How very unfortunate . I do highly recommend both books. When you read 1984, think if it reminds you of what is playing out currently in our country and the world.

Excellent collection
After watching a program on PBS about Dorothea Lange, I wanted to learn more about this woman. She was wonderful at capturing the face of pain and suffering and so many other emotions that existed in a difficult time in our country's history. I had long admired several of her photographs without even knowing she had photographed them! She had an uncanny ability to see the soul behind the suffering face. I found the book to be a rare bargain for the price I paid.
