The Big House : A Century in the Life of an American Summer Home -George H. Colt

    Feels like you are there.
I loved this book. The detail was enough to project me back into my own summer experiences at my grandparent's children's camp on the water where I spent my summers, not too far away from the Cape. The author's descriptive writing made me feel that I was right there. I read the book in about a day, so quickly, that I want to read it again in a few months. If you like memoirs with a lot of detail and the lives of this family and their neighbor's on the Cape, you will enjoy this book.

    Nice student violin
For the money, this is a very good buy. For the price of the violin, you get the bow, case, and a block of rosin, and you're set to go. If you are able to lower the action by refitting the bridge or refitting the pegs to keep them from slipping, you will have a nice student violin that could be very reliable. Some come in set-up well enough for the beginning student, ready to play. It's a good starter violin for the beginning student to make sure they are interested in continuing the violin before they spend a lot of money upgrading for something more expensive. And if taken care of, there's an intact violin to sell or pass along to a sibling or friend. For the money, these inexpensive violins sound pretty decent, and some students that play well can make them sound even better.

A Good and Cheaper Solution for Horse or Livestock Run-in shelter
This is the 2nd one I bought for my horses for daytime run-in shelter (or u can use them at night too) and they are much sturdier because of the bottom fence panels than garage tents some use. These hold up very well to the wear and tear of horses leaning on them and rubbing against them. It took two of us 4-6 hours to put up and the key is to separate out the pipes and nuts and bolts before hand. And we wouldn't attempt it on a windy day. A very good product but.... the pit falls are as follows and it's too bad because these are easy CHEAP fixes but very aggravating while trying to put this big canopy up. First, the bolts don't look much different and with bad eyesight and even with glasses, forget it, u can't read the code number on the top. How hard would it be for the manufacturer to put them in TWO separate plastic bags? It would have saved someone with bad eyesight an hour and the aggravation to do it. The next thing was that the ties on the four corners that tie down the entire canopy so the front and back don't fly off in the wind and rip your $400 canopy are so short we could barely make a knot. And I'm paranoid that won't hold or if we have to untie the knots to adjust the canopy from working itself off, after time the knot might not come undone and we'll have to cut the ties and buy all that length of strap and thread it through the front and back of the canopy, a tedious horrible job, which means taking the entire thing OFF after time which is always a nightmare Too bad. For about six more inches of strap for each corner and two tiny plastic bags this canopy would get a perfect score. Why cut corners with things so cheap and simple? Our first canopy had the bolts all in one bag and the difference in size (like a 16th or 32 of an inch are not apparent until you use them) as well but the tie down straps left plenty of length to sufficiently tie them unlike my second canopy kit. Otherwise, aside from these aggravations, the entire structure is great, I've had my first one over a year with no problems which caused me to buy another one.
