Gem
This is a very unique designer fragrance which has very long lasting power. It is very different from the original Gucci Guilty. Alberto Morillas is the perfumer who worked on this and he is among the greatest perfumers of all time and still living. Expect it to be very dry and woodsy throughout its entire dry down phase as well as bitter from the vetiver and leathery accords. It is very similar to Fahrenheit from Christian Dior but with more dry woods and leather. I enjoyed this so much after sampling it first that I bought a bottle after years of waiting, that is how much I love it.

Different formulation, possibly!
This is the first full sized bottle of fragrance I have purchased after years of looking around and sampling. Based on the sample of Timbuktu I received a few years ago, this full bottle is a bit different in many ways but mainly it is "sour" for a long time until it dries down and then has a "body odor" vibe happening. I don't know if it is a reformulation of the sample I tried, it does come in the bottle with the new logo so it probably is. The older version, or the sample at least is much more smooth, woody, and soapy without the sour opening and body odor dry down. All that being said, I wish it smelled more like the sample I had, or lease how I remembered it.
It is possible my nose has just changed, or evolved over the years, or that the batch was bad, or maybe this particular bottle. It is also possible that it is fake, if so it is a very good one.
I recommend Timbuktu, but be on the safe side and find a vintage bottle with the little tree logo at the top.
