2 of 2 found this helpful I have used this gem to grind venison, pork and rump roasts. Talk about a quiet, smooth machine; this is it. I ground a 5.5 lb rump roast for lean burger. After cutting the roast into pieces small enough to get into the generously sized feed shoot I loaded the entire batch in the hopper and turned on the grinder. Very quiet; nice compared to my old unit. I dropped the first large chunk into the throat and it immediately disappeared without pushing it; I continued to feed as fast as I could and 17 seconds later I was done. I couldn't believe it but have since learned that this unit will grind like nothing I've ever seen outside a butcher shop. I really like the unit though I will admit that it is much heavier than my old one. Quality is solid and shows throughout. All cutting surfaces are stainless steel and easy to clean. I would recommend this unit for anyone wanting a relatively small unit for occasional use for up to a deer sized job.
