Extremely disappointed with this range hood (Item ID: 301961857314 | MPN # SV218B2-I36)
1. The specification from the manufacture for model SV218B2-I36 at (sorry cannot inlcude the link, as ebay does not allow), mentioned it should have "Dual Electronic Control Panels with LCD Display". However the one I received only has one in the front. It is mentioned that the MPN number of this range hood is the same SV218B2-I36, how come it comes with only one panel?
2. I have an island mounted range hood (Cavaliere 198D 36 Island Mount), which I decided to replace after 9 years. The chimney size is 11.16" x 14.61". The major reason I choose this range hood over other candidates is that I wanted to reuse the chimney, at lease the frame / rack inside. Based on the link here (sorry cannot inlcude the link, as ebay does not allow), this range hood should have the same size chimney, again MPNs are the same SV218B2-I36. however the one comes with a much smaller chimney size. I thought if the chimney frame could be reused, the installation should be much simpler and I could do it myself. It ends up I have to spend more than $400 to hire a contractor to completely change the ceiling opening for the new chimney size, install the smaller chimney frame. It is a pain.
3. Based on the spec, this range hood has the 900 CFM maximum airflow, I did not feel it stronger than my previous one which is only 600CFM. It turned out that both this one (SV218B2-I36) and my old one (198D-I36) end up using a motor of the same power (218w). Dont understand with the same power motor, how the new one can generate half more (300CFM) airflow. Don't tell me this is an innovative design.
4. This one comes with 3 filters. Unfortunately, one filter comes with a couple of baffle pieces bent. how come?
5. The installation guild is nothing else other than a piece of wasted paper, completely useless...
It looks like this should be my last range hood with Cavaliere...
