A Great Budget Option for Desktop Computing
The Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 is most likely one of the most versatile CPUs ever made. Upon it's release in 2009, it was the top performer in its class.
By today's standards, it's very easy to find one of these processors for dirt cheap on sites like this one. Surprisingly, these chips are more than capable of running Windows 10 as well as light editing and somewhat demanding gaming. I purchased one to use for a cryptomining/server tower and the thing came in pristine condition. If you take one of these core 2 quads, pair it with an inexpensive LGA-775 motherboard, give it 8GB of 1666MHz RAM, and boot it up with an SSD and a solid GPU, you've got yourself an all-around super budget PC capable of most tasks.
I highly recommend the Core 2 Quad to anyone looking to build a budget PC that doesn't sacrifice much performance. Sure there are many CPUs that outperform this one, but not at this price range. This gets a 5 stars from me.
