Intel i7 965 Extreme Edition 3.2Ghz
2 of 2 found this helpful I chose to purchase this CPU to upgrade my existing one. the i7 (920) that I had only has 4.something gb/s QPI(quick path inter-connect) bandwidth, whereas this one has 6.4gb/s. This wont mean much to the average user, I tend to over-clock it to its absolute limits (liquid cooled as well as onboard chipset and MOSFETs)
Under normal circumstances this CPU performs great, it idles at about 50-55 degrees Celsius and about 60-75 under full load (depending on game and duration)
Awaiting on my ASUS rampage Extreme II for the over-clocking (p6t not stable for O/C the multiplier goes erratic)
As for those intending to run this CPU on air set-up i would recommend getting the biggest and the best that you can afford!!!
You won't regret it one bit (i'm not, splurging another grand or so for extreme mobo, another radiator, 3x 120mm fans, mosfet/chipset fittings) Happy days =D

Small tackle box
Small neat tackle box, good for light gear or small lures.

You get what you pay for
It is still a bit pricey per gig, however you will not be disappointed with the difference between the boot up and load times compared to platter based mechanical drives.
