Excellent club from 160 to 200 yards, esp from rough
1 of 1 found this helpful The 2-4, sometimes 5 iron, can be a difficult club to hit well out of difficult stances and lies. Out of the rough, fuhgeddaboudit. The hybrid in this range is indispensible for the mid to high handicapper and even for the better players. For example, I was 167yards out of rough that went to the balls equator (mid rough) and I was able to land it ten feet away from the cup with some back spin (3 layered ball). If it's good enough for Yang, than its good enough for you. Callaway's hybrids feel balanced at address and are consistent with their X18 line of irons in terms of swing feel. I can't say enough about it. The only drawback is if you need something to hit a long rolling shot under a tree, a hybrid 3 won't do it. Its designed to launch the ball. There, nothing beats the old 3 iron.
