Australian outback circa 1900
Having been to Australia, I have read many books centered there which incorporate Oz's history. From an historical perspective, this book is wonderful. It can be uncomfortable reading due to the lack of regard for the aboriginal land rights, and for their way of life which was all but destroyed when the stations took over the outback. Having said that, it's a great representation from a woman's point of view of what life was like in 1900's outback Australia.
