Nitecore EA21 Explorer LED Flashlight 360 Lumens - Runs on 2 x AA Batteries
    Mar 19, 2025
Good quality light, but no index to find the switch reliably.
Good quality light. It was VERY difficult to find a side-switch light (as opposed to a tail-switch, or combo of tail & side switch), especially one that runs on 2 AA batteries. This was the primary reason I bought it. It is much easier, while walking or jogging, to carry a side-switch light in hand, and toggle it on and off. A tail-switch light requires that you reorient the light each time you turn it on. This light consumes batteries about twice as fast as my Streamlight Protac 2AA, which is not a huge deal, because I use rechargeables. My only real complaint is that there is no index on the handle or the head to indicate where the switch is. Even the flats milled into the body don't line up with the switch. It would have been smart to mill a ridge the entire length of the light either opposite the switch side, or immediately below the switch, so you can tell by feel where the switch is. Unlikely that someone will read this, since these lights are long out of production, but I am currently trying out a strip of the loop side of velcro to solve this problem. Definitely a first world problem!
