Panasonic PT-AE500 Projector
2 of 2 found this helpful Although this LCD Projector is 2004 vintage it was at that time £1500 and received rave reviews from the Tech Press..... its capabilities are undiminished with age and it offers an excellent 720/1080i HD picture from HDMI via its DVI socket via an adaptor ( £5.00) or component feeds.You DO have to black the room out but the picture is 1st class.Its a quiet unit and I feel that its probable that its as good as the 700 and 900 that followed and when you consider that its AVAILABLE FOR UNDER £300 well its a no brainer.We recently watched David Attenboroughs "Blue Planet" from BBC HD and my audience of Dinner Party Guests were amazed.Just in passing I do prefer LCD as I'm one of the 10% of people who see " Rainbow Effect " with most DLP devices with scenes of high contrast differences eg a fire at night .
