Relatively Current Battery (as of August 2017)
This battery works well in my Dell Latitude E6410. Also, judging by the manufacturing info on it, the battery was made in late 2016, which is pretty good for getting it so cheaply in mid-2017.

Old, but cheap and works well in Linux
Linux doesn't care whether this is a ScanSnap S300 (Windows version) or a ScanSnap S300M (Mac version)! :) Buy whichever one is in better condition or cheaper.
This produces nice scans. The scanner was made in 2009, but in 2017 the one I just bought still works great. The scanner is compatible with Linux using sane-backends and your favorite scanning frontend. Simple Scan, XSane, and GScan2Pdf all work for me, but I prefer GScan2Pdf. I recommend searching "josh archer scansnap s300 drivers linux" for great advice on setting this up. I am not Josh Archer; I just found his guide useful.

Easiest to get custom ROMs
1 of 2 found this helpful I've never owned a smartphone before, but this fits well in my hand and is not too heavy. I like that it has a headphone jack. Call quality and photo quality seem decent. Because this phone is 5G-capable, I should be able to keep using it even if 4G coverage is dropped in the future by networks, as is happening with 3G coverage in the USA in 2022.
A big benefit of the Pixels is that they are supported by the most modding communities, as long as you *don't* get the Verizon version. G025E is the straight-from-Google one, so it does NOT have the Verizon issue. :) Pixels allow you to unlock and relock the bootloader, so instead of the Android that comes on the phone, you can flash/install CalyxOS, GrapheneOS, or others so that you aren't tracked by Google or Samsung, and you don't need to root the phone to do it.
