Perfect replacement for a worn-out unit

Simple, effective and inexpensive
I suppose I'm missing something by not using combo shifters/brake levers, but I don't plan to change anytime soon. I don't race anymore, so the second or two it takes for me to reach down and shift are inconsequential. In exchange, I have a simple mechanism that is nearly foolproof. Just take a look at an exploded view of any one of Shimano's brifters to see how complicated they are. I can live with the simplicity.
I miss Suntour and I'm sorry they succumbed to Shimano's competition. Fortunately for me, there's a nice flow of good used Suntour parts coming to market on eBay.
