tl;dr: solid wood, good weight. hilt wrap came off, tip of one sword cracked/split.
they have good weight to them, and are of solid wood. my only quarrel with these, really, is that after one solid day of basic practice [sheathing/unsheathing, vertical swinging, etc.] the ito [hilt wrap] started to loosen and unravel. i wasnt too upset about this, bc i could just take it the rest of the way off and wrap it in my sports tape or just work with it unwrapped. that, and, the tip of one sword began to split. ill post pics later.
tl;dr: hilt wrap came off, and the tip of one sword cracked about 4 inches down the length.
