Terrific background material makes a great story.

There's a whole lot of background information that paints a great picture of the road to the first Indy 500. Few people realize the Speedway hosted races before the initial 500. Add a few shady characters and the story becomes rather compelling. Highly recommended for anyone interested in the early days of racing in the U.S.
